Grandma’s Hands New Mexico is more than just a nonprofit; it’s a tribute to a woman whose love, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to others shaped everything we do. The original idea for Grandma’s Hands came from my grandmother, Gladys W. Gaston, who passed away in 2015 after a long and impactful life. She retired from a 35-year career as a special education schoolteacher, where her passion for teaching children how to read was at the heart of her work.
